More to Consider with Jaw Tension:

  1. STRESS - how is your daily level of stress? Do you take breaks to relieve stress? Stress often gets locked in the jaw

  2. OVERSTIMULATION - Jaw tension can build up when you take in too much screen time, are in overstimulating environments or get overwhelmed with life

  3. MULTI-TASKING- Pay attention to how your jaw feels after you’ve been multitasking

  4. FEELINGS / EXPRESSION HELD IN - The jaw is the gateway from your inner world to the outer world. When you hold in feelings or your truth, it can get stuck in the jaw.

  5. PERFORMING vs. AUTHENTICITY - Holding yourself together or acting like you’re all together can be a lot of effort for your jaw

  6. CHEWING HABITS - Do you chew on one side of your mouth more than the other? Pay attention to how you chew to see if you’re stressing your jaw more on one side than the other

  7. TONGUE - What is your tongue doing all day? Does your tongue rest? Often tongue tension can translate into jaw tension.

  8. BREATH - Are you holding your breath during the day? Are you taking moments to just breathe?

Increase awareness, movement, breaks and build supportive habits for your jaw!
